Director of AI Security Engineering

We’re hiring a Director of AI Security Engineering to lead and implement technical security controls across our AI/ML platforms and model-serving infrastructure. Reporting directly to the VP of Security & Compliance, this high-impact, hands-on leadership role will focus on building secure, scalable systems for training, deploying, and monitoring LLMs in both internal and customer-hosted environments.

You’ll work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, application security, and ML risk—rolling up your sleeves to design and build, not just advise. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI security at a company pushing the boundaries of clinical data intelligence.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Own the end-to-end security of our AI/ML platforms, including LLM pipelines, RAG, and inference systems.
  • Build secure-by-default patterns across model development and deployment in the cloud.
  • Threat model and proactively mitigate AI-specific risks: prompt injection, model leakage, poisoning.
  • Red-team and adversarially test LLMs to validate their robustness.
  • Embed security into MLOps workflows by partnering closely with ML, infra, and DevOps teams.
  • Lead incident response and detection engineering efforts for AI-specific threats.
  • Architect customer-hosted security deployments that are HIPAA/HITRUST compliant.
  • Track global AI security trends and regulations, and implement them as practical controls.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • 8+ years in security engineering, including 2+ years securing AI/ML or MLOps systems
  • Strong knowledge of LLM threat vectors: prompt injection, inversion, data leakage, etc.
  • Hands-on cloud-native infrastructure experience: AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, CI/CD
  • Proven ability to threat model and implement technical controls
  • Experience with red-teaming or adversarial testing of ML systems
  • Comfort with regulatory frameworks like HIPAA, HITRUST, NIST AI RMF
  • Collaborative, technical leader who can partner across engineering and product teams
  • Excellent communicator, able to influence and educate across levels
