IMO Health is proud to share that Ann Barnes, CEO, has been awarded the 2026 Healthcare Leaders’ Ian Adler Memorial Innovator Award, recognizing her contributions to healthcare leadership and innovation.

Past recipients include Julie Klapstein, Founding CEO of Availity; Toby Cosgrove, MD, Former President and CEO of Cleveland Clinic; and Bill Frist, Founder of Frist-Cressey Ventures and Former Majority Leader, U.S. Senate, among others.

Since joining IMO Health eight years ago, Barnes has led the expansion of the company’s clinical terminology expertise into a broader suite of clinical data intelligence capabilities, spanning data quality, enablement, analytics, and clinical intelligence.

Today, IMO Health works with 95% of U.S. providers and every major electronic health record platform. It helps organizations turn complex clinical information into useful, reliable data that can fuel AI models, accelerate workflows, and deliver measurable outcomes across health systems, life sciences, and health tech.

“I’m incredibly honored to receive this award, but it really reflects what we’ve accomplished together as a company,” Barnes said. “We will never stop asking hard questions, challenging the status quo, and finding new ways to operationalize healthcare data.”

Under Barnes’ tenure as CEO, IMO Health has earned industry recognition for its work, including Medtech Breakthrough Awards for Best Healthcare Big Data Solution in 2026; TMC Labs award for Innovation in 2026; and Modern Healthcare Best in Business Awards for Data Analytics and Revenue Cycle Management in 2025.

I'm incredibly honored to receive this award, but it really reflects what we've accomplished together as a company. We will never stop asking hard questions, challenging the status quo, and finding new ways to operationalize healthcare data.

Beyond business growth, Barnes has also made developing people a priority. Throughout her career, she has advocated for the advancement of women in tech and greater diversity across the industry.

And that makes this recognition especially notable; in the award’s 16-year history, Barnes is only the third woman to receive it.
