IMO Health’s CEO Ann Barnes was named to the PharmaVoice 100 Most Inspiring People list for 2022, a leading industry publication operated by Industry Dive.

PharmaVoice 100 Most Inspiring People celebrates trailblazers that are making a difference in the industry in various ways. Barnes was specifically recognized for her efforts to promote Diversity, Equity and, Inclusion (DE&I) at IMO Health and in the health IT industry, which has been a passion project for her throughout her career.

In an interview with PharmaVoice, Barnes shared her approach to improving DE&I – which includes thinking and acting on your goals, not just focusing on what you say. For example, Barnes requires 50 percent of candidate resumes to be from diverse candidates, and half of her leadership team is made up of women.

Some excerpts from Ann’s profile:

How are you paying your success forward?

I am a big believer in mentorship and spend time mentoring women inside and outside of my organization. Taking the time to coach and support young, smart women is rewarding and helps the overall environment.

How would you describe your leadership style?

I hire really good people who are experts at what they do and then let them thrive. My job is to help them succeed by providing help where they need it. I also value spending time with employees at all levels of this business. I regularly hold mini-town hall style meetings with small groups to interact and hear directly from our people about issues and pain points they might be facing.
