The IMO Agile Portfolio Manager I– Release Operations role influences the successful delivery of these terminology data assets, This role works across all departments and is designed for someone with a passion for collaboration and a talent for coordination.  This role will serve two main functions that are critical for successful releases: Scrum Master and Release Manager.  You’ll work cross-functionally to manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and drive day to day activities.  You’ll be on a team with other Portfolio Managers and have a strong support system, providing mentorship and peer collaboration.  You’ll have the opportunity to present to senior management and offer guidance and recommendations that influence our ability to meet our goals. 
  • Release-team(s) Scrum Master:
  • Supports Release-related Scrum teams by leading Scrum ceremonies and constructing them to be productive, based on the team’s needs and maturity. Coaching team members to be autonomous and effective.  Removes impediments and escalates blockers, as necessary. 
  • Supports the Product Owner by establishing practices that facilitate strong team engagement and output during Sprint Planning, Sprint Execution, Sprint Demos, and Sprint Retros.  Works hand-in-hand with the Product Owner to drive overall success of the team. 
  • Supports program management policies such as adherence to IMO’s SDLC, Portfolio Planning and Execution practices, and participation in Communities of Practice. 
  • Participate in cross-portfolio product Planning and Execution, including capacity planning and dependency management 
  • Release Management:
  • Prioritizes, schedules, and manages the releases of regulatory codeset updates and customer-driven requests.  
  • Prepares and communicates release notes to internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Drives down blockers in the data updates and release processes by identifying risks, devising mitigation plans, and escalating issues to management. 
  • Holds primarily accountability for release success by providing release coordination and communication during and after deployment through appropriate channels 
  • Program Management Operations:
  • Utilize PMO tools to centralize communication and maintain relevant program data.  Utilize tools such as JIRA, Aha!, Confluence, PPM Pro, and Tableau. . 
  • Support cross-portfolio financial management activities, examples are: validating time / costs associated to an Initiative, maintaining accurate rates and team assignments, and monitoring Lights On vs non-Lights On distribution.  

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience 
  • Motivation to pursue solutions and solve problems, especially when the problems are ambiguous or complex 
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks at once and the willingness to ask for help when you need it 
  • Equal excitement to understand the big picture but also dive into the details

  • Healthcare IT experience is preferred
