When it comes to gender equality in the workplace, talk is not enough for IMO’s CEO Ann Barnes.

“It’s something that has to be focused on in a very intentional way,” said Barnes in an interview for Modern Healthcare’s new podcast Healthcare Insider. Achieving a well-balanced team is important, she notes, “not because men aren’t getting the job done, but because women bring a different perspective. They bring a different style, they bring a different approach to things, and I think that balanced approach … really makes a difference in the way solutions get implemented, and it will impact the way that healthcare changes.”

For more from Ann, including the importance of mentorship, how COVID-19 may reshape the workforce, and what it was like to bring an all-female team to the notoriously male-dominated JP Morgan healthcare conference, listen to her episode of Healthcare Insider here.
