 The Systems Engineer II role is to ensure the stability and efficient operation of Enterprise IT's (EIT) existing server infrastructure and to work closely with senior team members and leaders to scope and engineer new environments that meet all business, technical and security requirements. This position works closely with EIT System Operations peers to keep all EIT systems and infrastructure functioning at optimal levels. You'll also provide additional support for system cloud migrations, licensing and software acquisition, Active Directory and Group Policy creation/modification, Office365, AWS and Azure support, and will provide Tier 2 technical support for EIT environments. As we are delivering information technology services in healthcare IT, understanding, and maintaining HIPAA compliant environments is also an important aspect of our work
  • Work both independently and with EIT peers to resolve issues, research, and test possible solutions prior to implementation, and scope projects related to EIT improvement
  • Provide varying levels of technical support for all EIT owned systems 
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software and network related problems encountered by both local and remote end-users that have been escalated to the EIT System Operations team 
  • Develop and document scripts and standard operating procedures pertaining to streamlining and automating EIT processes 
  • Ensure all EIT owned internal servers are available via daily system monitoring and alerting protocols 
  • Activate project work assignments from the EIT Backlog and provide status updates and timely completion of effort with little support from technical lead and management 
  • 3-5 years of experience working in Information Technology, preferably in a Systems Administration role or 1-2 years in a Systems Engineering role 
  • Collaborative and communicative working style that emphasizes developing solutions as a team
  • Strong and demonstrable knowledge of server hardware, Virtualization and SAN storage 
  • Strong and demonstrable knowledge of PowerShell scripting (Azure and AWS CLI a plus) 
  • Strong and demonstrable knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS Preferred) 
  • Strong and demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft server technologies (some SQL preferred) 
  • Proficient in the use of logging and monitoring systems (New Relic, PRTG) to discern system health issues and provide proposed solutions to team leadership 
  • Strong foundational knowledge of GPOs, AD OUs, DNS, and DHCP required 
  • Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills 

This position will require some ad-hoc on site work at IMO's Rosemont, IL office and/or a satellite facility in Franklin Park, IL.
