IMO is pleased to congratulate Dr. Eric Rose, Vice President of Clinical Informatics and Dr. Steven Rube, Vice President of Customer Experience, both of whom were recently honored as Fellows of the American Medical Informatics Association class of 2020. Receiving the distinction of Fellow puts Drs. Rose and Rube in a select group of over 100 AMIA members selected as fellows this year.

The fellowship distinction recognizes these physicians for demonstrating excellence in the field of health care informatics and highlights the value of their contributions to IMO’s team. They join their IMO colleagues, Andrew Kanter, MD and Jonathan Gold, MD, both of whom received the title of Fellow last year.

“Professionals who brandish FAMIA signal to patients, employers, and colleagues that they are steeped in evidence-based practice and engaged with a community of life-long learners who apply the latest advances in informatics to improve health and health care,” according to a statement from the organization about the decision to create the fellowship.

A ceremony to honor the 2020 inductees will be part of the AMIA 2020 Clinical informatics Conference in Seattle, Washington. At the conference, clinical informaticians, developers, and health IT funders will gather to learn and explore a variety of issues from evaluating and applying population health information, to new patient engagement methods, to enhancing system usability.
